Booking an appointment at PicMan Tattoo is easy. Here are your options:

Pro Tip: Include as much detail as possible when booking, like your desired design, placement, and size. This helps us prepare and ensures a smoother consultation process.

  • Do you accept walk-ins?

We accept walk-ins if Marc’s schedule allows, but due to high demand, appointments are highly recommended. If you’re hoping for a walk-in, it’s best to call ahead or check availability through our chatbot.

  • How far in advance should I book?

It depends on Marc’s schedule and the complexity of your tattoo. For smaller tattoos, we can often accommodate you within a week or two. For larger, custom pieces, it’s best to book a few weeks to a month in advance.

If you have a specific timeline in mind (e.g., for a special event), let us know when booking, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

  • What should I bring to my tattoo appointment?

When you come to your appointment, here’s what you should bring:

    • Reference Materials: Any images or ideas you have for your tattoo. If you’re unsure, Marc can help guide you through the design process.
    • Comfortable Clothing: Wear something that allows easy access to the area being tattooed.
    • Snacks & Drinks: Especially for longer sessions, bring water or a light snack to stay hydrated and comfortable.
    • ID: If you’re under 18 and getting a tattoo with parental consent, bring a valid ID for yourself and your parent/guardian.
  • How should I prepare for my tattoo session?

Preparing for your tattoo is crucial for a smooth experience:

    • Get a Good Night’s Sleep: Being well-rested helps your body handle the process better.
    • Eat Beforehand: A full meal will keep your blood sugar stable, making the session more comfortable.
    • Avoid Alcohol & Caffeine: Both can thin your blood and make the tattooing process more difficult.
    • Wear Comfortable Clothes: Choose something that allows easy access to the area being tattooed.
  • How long does a tattoo take to heal?

Healing times vary depending on the size and placement of the tattoo, but most tattoos take 2–3 weeks to heal on the surface. Full healing, including the deeper layers of skin, can take up to 3 Months.

Marc uses a second-skin bandage that speeds up healing and minimizes scabbing. Simply leave it on for 4–5 days, and follow the aftercare instructions provided.

  • How do I care for my tattoo after my appointment?

Proper aftercare is essential for your tattoo to heal well and look great:

    • Leave the Bandage On: Keep the second-skin bandage on for 4–5 days.
    • After Removing the Bandage: Wash the tattoo gently with warm water and unscented soap. Pat dry with a clean towel.
    • Moisturize: Apply a light layer of unscented lotion 2–3 times a day.
    • Avoid Submerging the Tattoo: No swimming, saunas, or hot tubs during the healing process.
    • Stay Out of the Sun: Direct sunlight can fade your tattoo and irritate the healing skin.

Marc provides detailed aftercare instructions at the end of every appointment.

  • Do you offer free touch-ups?

Yes! Free touch-ups are available as long as you followed the aftercare instructions provided. Touch-ups address any small spots that may have healed unevenly.

However, touch-ups are not free if the tattoo was damaged due to neglect, improper aftercare, or external factors like sunburn.

  • What is your pricing structure?

Pricing at PicMan Tattoo is as follows:

    • Hourly Rate: $180/hour (tax included).
    • Flat Rate: Smaller tattoos may be priced as a one-time job.
    • Custom Design Fee: For detailed, original artwork, there’s a $75/hour design fee (waived for simple designs).

A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment, which will go toward the final cost of your tattoo.

  • Can you cover up old tattoos?

Absolutely! Marc specializes in cover-ups and reworks, transforming unwanted tattoos into stunning new pieces. During your consultation, Marc will evaluate your existing tattoo and discuss the best approach for the cover-up.

  • Do you tattoo over scars or stretch marks?

Yes, Marc has extensive experience tattooing over scars and stretch marks. The scar must be fully healed (usually 1–2 years old) before tattooing.

Marc can design tattoos that incorporate scars or camouflage them entirely, depending on your preference.

  • Are tattoos safe? How does Pic-Man Tattoo ensure hygiene?

Tattoos are safe when performed in a clean, professional environment like Pic-Man. We follow strict hygiene protocols, including:

    • Using single-use, sterile needles and disposable equipment.
    • Thoroughly disinfecting all surfaces and tools before and after each session.
    • Wearing gloves throughout the process.

Marc has worked with Saskatoon’s health board to establish tattooing standards and maintains full compliance with all regulations.

  • Does getting a tattoo hurt?

Pain levels vary depending on the placement and individual tolerance, but most clients describe the sensation as a mild to moderate discomfort. Areas with less muscle or more bone (like ribs or ankles) tend to be more sensitive, while areas like the forearm or upper arm are generally less painful.

  • Can I bring a friend to my tattoo appointment?

Yes, you’re welcome to bring a friend for support. Just make sure they understand that the focus needs to remain on the tattoo process—they shouldn’t cause distractions or make you laugh, as movement can affect the tattoo.

  • Are there any designs you won’t tattoo?

Marc does not tattoo any designs associated with hate symbols or messages. Beyond that, he’s happy to work with most designs, provided they are proportional and suitable for tattooing. If you have a child’s drawing or sentimental piece, Marc will work with it no matter how unconventional.

  • Can I get a tattoo while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No, we do not tattoo clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. This is to ensure the safety of both the client and their child.

  • Do tattoos fade over time?

Yes, tattoos may fade slightly over time due to factors like sun exposure and skin aging. To keep your tattoo vibrant:

    • Use sunscreen whenever your tattoo is exposed to sunlight.
    • Moisturize your skin regularly to maintain its elasticity.
    • Schedule touch-ups as needed to refresh your design.
  • What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We require at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule an appointment. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 48 hours’ notice will result in the loss of your $100 deposit.
